Games

In 2025 I co-founded Ballast Games with Anand Friesen. We're a studio of two, which means I write the code, design the systems, run the Steam backend, and handle the business side. Our first game, Cloudbreaker, is out now.

Bullet heaven roguelite : Godot

Cloudbreaker

An inventory management action roguelite set in the sky. Your build lives in your inventory, so what you carry matters as much as how you dodge.

We put a demo on Steam for Next Fest in June 2026 and launched the full game on September 15, 2026.

RogueliteGameplay Code Systems DesignTools
  • Code and design. Combat, run structure, inventory systems, and the tooling behind them.
  • Steam Deck. Tuned the controls so the game plays well on Deck.
  • Data. Player telemetry through Talo, used to steer balance decisions.
  • Studio. Steam backend, launch planning, working with our PR partner, and business operations.

AR prototype : Godot, hand tracking

AR Base Defense

It had been a while since I got to play around in AR, and I forgot how much fun it is to test different hand tracking controls and invent new ways to interact with a virtual world.

It's a base defense game with mining and tower defense elements. Mine the ground around your base for resources, bolster your defenses, and survive increasing waves of enemies.

I also wanted to see what's possible when rapid prototyping with AI, so I vibe coded it in Godot with Claude in a single evening.

Asset 15 Redesign

My game design work isn't only on flat screens. At Arcturus I was the main game designer on Asset 15, rebuilding it from the ground up as a full environment AR puzzle game you play with your hands: a ceiling mounted level menu, a logic gate puzzle, and an assembly puzzle built from volumetric captures.
